Garden Smiles

Garden Smiles, the delight of Deb Carruth, evolved slowly beginning with annual warehouse sales and emerging into a proper shop loaded with the complete line of Carruth Studio, along with work from other exceptional individuals. Fondly dubbed, "The Pursuit of Imperfection," our slightly blemished pieces can only be purchased here and are offered at pleasantly reduced prices.

Now an attraction for people throughout the area, our Garden Smiles customers bring their families and friends in for visits from all over the country. Husbands have been found sitting in the garden out front stating they have paid us a visit every day this week because their sister is in town for a visit and has a list to fulfill! Customers have wandered through the shop on their cell phones discussing what is available with someone special in another state. It's a hoot!

George signs his work at least twice annually, and during these signings people patiently wait for their turn to visit. To combat line fatigue, we do our very best to lighten things up with a bit of bantering, joke telling (lamely achieved), freebies, and perhaps a pathetic try at singing and dancing. This duty falls to Deb, who loves our customers and nothing pleases her more than to play with them.

Known for our gift wrap, the staff of Garden Smiles carefully tie beautiful dried flowers to each box. This service is free with all first quality merchandise with an additional fee required for "seconds." This Christmas season we made terra cotta stars for each box as well!

"Seconds" are always available but not in every design we make. "Seconds" are defined as pieces that are slightly imperfect having a greater number of air bubbles than is acceptable, chips, and missing hangers... you get the picture. What pieces are "seconds" depends upon our production schedule for the shops we are supplying. If we don't have something as a "second" we can always provide a "first"!!!
